I believe that Sales Orders are only currently available in QuickBooks Premier and higher Editions.

Sometimes other fields in the template are displayed/printed as Sales Order Numbers (SONum, S.O.Num, SO#, S. O. Number). Check the template to see what the real field is. It could be FOB, a custom or 'other' field.

Intuit does not allow a program to just put in or read from the Sales Order Number field.  Normally an Invoice is 'linked' to a sales order and thus the SONum is not available to our programs (again this is an Intuit Restriction).
